BU’s Quest leads walk across England

For immediate release: April 10, 2007

BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Quest Program will lead a walk through Northern England from Friday, June 22, to Wednesday, July 4.

The walk will begin in the Lake District region of Northwest England and finish across the North Yorkshire Moors, from St. Bee’s on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood’s Bay on the shores of the North Sea. The adventure will pass through a mountainous and hilly landscape of highland sheep farms, villages of stonewalled houses, inns and ancient churches.

The trip passes through the land of Wordsworth and James Herriot, author of “All Things Bright and Beautiful.” The region’s history is present in the traces of the passing of the Romans, Danes, Saxons and Vikings, which can be found along old pathways, churches and landscapes.

Overnight accommodations will be in country inns and bed and breakfasts. For more information, contact Roy Smith at (570) 389-2100 or visit the web site at www.buquest.org
