BLOOMSBURG —Two Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s student vocal ensembles will give performances on Thursday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m., in Carver Hall, Kenneth S. Gross Auditorium.

The 30-member Husky Singers, directed by music faculty member Alan Baker, will sing selections that range from Celtic folk music, African community songs, spirituals, to love and drinking songs. The performance will feature a number of student soloists. Student Tim Karnes will perform on both the African djembe drum and guitar and Tim Morrell will play the mandolin. Martin Pastor, a senior music education major, will also conduct.

The BU Women’s Choral Ensemble is directed by faculty member Wendy Miller. The ensemble’s selection of music spans time and style from ancient to contemporary, popular to serious.

The Chambers Singers Spring Concert, directed by Baker, will be presented Sunday, April 13, at 2:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, 345 Market St., Bloomsburg.

As a select vocal group of 16 members, the Chamber Singers have toured London, Scotland, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and Japan. Membership is determined by audition.

Admission is free and open to the public.
