Local student joins Bloomsburg University honor society

BLOOMSBURG — A local Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania student was recently inducted into the university’s chapter of the physics honor society, Sigma Pi Sigma.

New members, all seniors at BU, are: Jacqueline Leslie, an engineering science major from Slatington; Tina Piquet and Erin Schloyer, both health physics majors from Bloomsburg; and Kyle Vandermay, a physics and business administration/finance major Holland, Pa.

Established in 1921, Sigma Pi Sigma exists to honor outstanding scholarship in physics.

Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The university serves approximately 8,000 students, offering comprehensive programs of study in the colleges of Professional Studies, Business, Liberal Arts and Science and Technology.
