BLOOMSBURG — The Bloomsburg Players of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will take the stage Wednesday through Sunday, Sept. 24 to 28, to present “An Evening of Ten Minute Plays.” The performances will run from Wednesday to Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Theatre Lab behind the University Store. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors and free for students with a valid BU ID.

The performances will introduce new student performers and will be directed by professor Karen Anselm and three BU and Bloomsburg Players alumnae, Toni-Ann Mancuso Yates, Abigail Hohmann and Renee Fawess.

Theater professor Bruce Candlish said, “Many professional and college theaters produce festivals of 10-minute plays as part of their ongoing seasons and as a way of promoting new work. For our performance showcase this season, we’ve selected some of the best from festivals around the country.

“What can happen in 10 minutes on stage? Just about anything. The eight plays we’re performing explore a variety of ways of being human,” he said.

Tickets are on sale at the box office in the Carver Hall lobby Monday to Friday from noon to 4 p.m. For more information, call (570) 389-4340.

Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The university serves approximately 8,000 students, offering comprehensive programs of study in the colleges of Professional Studies, Business, Liberal Arts and Science and Technology.
