BU Chamber Orchestra to give fall concert

For immediate release: Oct. 10, 2008

BLOOMSBURG — Members of the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra will perform a fall concert on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market St., Bloomsburg. The show is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in C Major, opus 21 and Mozart’s Concerto for Piano No. 20 in D Minor, K.466, featuring Kunyoung Kim on piano. Kim is a BU assistant professor of piano. She has performed in the Smithsonian Institution, at the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Mozart Festival in the Kennedy Center and at national and international universities.

The chamber orchestra is made up of students and area musicians and conducted by Mark Jelinek, professor of music at BU. Repertoire ranges from classics to popular hits.
