Veteran officer joins BU Safety and Police

For Immediate Release: Jan. 7, 2010

BLOOMSBURG — An officer with 27 years experience with the Town of Bloomsburg Police Department will become the interim assistant director of Bloomsburg University Safety and Police effective Feb. 1.

According to Tom Phillips, interim director of BU Safety and Police, Joseph Wondoloski will assume his duties at BU following his retirement from the Town of Bloomsburg's police force, where he is currently a lieutenant. At BU, he will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of BU Safety and Police while Phillips will concentrate on the department's overall operations.

"We're excited to welcome Joe to BU Safety and Police," Phillips said. "His knowledge and experience will serve us well."

Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The university serves approximately 9,000 students, offering comprehensive programs of study in the colleges of Education, Business, Liberal Arts and Science and Technology.
