BU to host three-day Earth Day celebration

BLOOMSBURG — Earth-friendly activities, community-focused tours and informational tables are planned to celebrate Earth Day at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania from Thursday through Saturday, April 21 to 23.

Activities on BU’s Academic Quadrangle Thursday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will include tie-dying and face painting. Tours, sponsored by BU’s Green Campus Initiative, will take place Thursday through Saturday at locations such as the BU steam plant, the Town of Bloomsburg Recycling Center and historic downtown Bloomsburg. The Farmers Market, first held last fall, returns to campus Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Earth Day events are sponsored by Help Our Planet Earth (H.O.P.E), the SOLVE Office and Green Campus Initiative. For more information contact Tim Pelton, civic engagement coordinator, or Jeff Brunskill, assistant professor of geography and geosciences.
