BU ensembles perform tunes of the fall

For iimmediate release: Oct. 4, 2011

BLOOMSBURG — The fall festival of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s choirs will feature three groups: Women’s Choral Ensemble, Husky Singers and Concert Choir. The concert on Sunday Oct. 16, at 2:30 p.m. in Carver Hall, Kenneth S. Gross Auditorium is free and open to the public.

The program includes “Amavolovolo” by Rudolf de Beer, a traditional Zulu dowry song; “The Storm is Passing Over,” an American gospel by Charles Albert Tindley; and works by composers Gregg Smith and Heinrich Schutz. Conducting are junior music/music education majors Janelle Dowkus of Paxinos and Elizabeth Dorkoski of Elysburg.
