BU offers GRE preparation program

For immediate release: Sept. 12, 2012

BU is offering a an 8-week GRE preparation program, which started Sept. 4, to current students, alumni, faculty, staff and members of the Bloomsburg community. The enrollment fee is $20 and includes the following:

  • Two Computerized Practice Exams: Saturday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Oct. 27. Both start at 10 a.m. and last about three hours. Registration is required. Attend a Study Group listed below to register.
  • Three optional times to attend Verbal Section Study Groups each week including Tuesdays 2 to 3 p.m. and Thursdays 1 to 2 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. in McCormick Center 2149.
  • Three optional times to attend Quantitative Section Study Groups each week including Tuesdays 12 to 1 p.m., Wednesdays 2 to 3 p.m., and Thursdays 12 to 1 p.m. in McCormick Center 2149.

The GRE, or Graduate Record Examinations, is the standardized test required for admission into many graduate schools. BU's GRE Preparation Program was sponsored by a Presidential Strategic Initiative Grant in 2011-2012 and is now self-sustained through enrollment fees.
