BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University, in cooperation with Bloomsburg Hospital, will offer a cardiac rehabilitation exercise program. The program is designed for adults age 18 and older with known stable heart disease and risk factors for heart disease.

According to Timothy McConnell, chair of BU’s exercise science department and director of the new program, the sessions are designed to help individuals reduce their risk for heart disease by increasing their level of regular exercise and physical activity.

In addition, participants will receive individualized instruction on cardiovascular risk reduction.

The program will start Jan. 31 and meet every Tuesday and Thursday. Class will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m.; however, other times may be offered. A one-time enrollment and assessment fee of $30 will be charged.

The membership fee is $120 for approximately 30 sessions during each fall and spring semester. Classes also will be available during the summer academic sessions at a fee of $100 for approximately 24 sessions.
