BU creative writers read from works March 13

BLOOMSBURG — Students from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Creative Writing Program will read from their original works at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, at the Moose Exchange, 203 W. Main Street, Bloomsburg. The event is open to the public free of charge.

Student participants are Shanne Hoffman, Kelly Stiner, April Brennan, Kyle Kerr, Emily Arcuri, Mary Kathleen Davis, Herbert Bailey, Gabriel Campbell, Meghan Copper, Meghan Kish, Emily George, Hannah Livington and Teresa Robbins. Students who read from their works at the recent “A Taste of the Arts” are Anne Reno, Christopher Ulloth, Megan Daw and Melanie Simms.

All are enrolled in the senior creative writing seminar class and are giving a public reading of their original work as part of the class requirement, said Jerry Wemple, professor of English. They have been mentored in their creative writing projects by Wemple and Claire Lawrence, associate professor of English. David Miller, assistant professor of theatre, recently conducted two workshops and coached them on ways to present their work.
