Greek Life joins forces with Alumni Network for the troops
Chi Theta Pi recently teamed with the Philly Area Network of the BU Alumni Association to prepare and ship care packages to U.S. soldiers serving their country over the holidays.
The volunteer effort included reading more than 17,000 holiday cards, packing 55 boxes in two hours and raising enough money to send roughly 90 care packages to troops.
Alumni Network gives thanks
The Philly Area Network of the BU Alumni Association would like to reiterate how thankful we are for your willingness to volunteer last Saturday at Keystone Soldiers. We successfully packed and shipped 55 boxes in two hours. She extended an open invitation to everyone to come back at any time.
We would also like to acknowledge the sisters of Chi Theta Pi for their willingness to team up with alumni and for their fundraising efforts on campus! It was a pleasure working alongside of them. And speaking of fundraising, we had a matching gift challenge by an alumna who would like to remain anonymous. She pledged a dollar-for-dollar match up to $500, and we're glad to announce the challenge was met. Alumni and Chi Theta Pi donations totaled $1,895. This amount covers the shipping costs of roughly 90 boxes!
Contact us with questions, comments, event ideas, or if you'd like to volunteer for Network events. We're always looking for help. Here's wishing you a happy and healthy Holiday Season!
