BLOOMSBURG— Registered nurse and author Rosalinda Alfaro-LeFevre will present the seventh annual Faust Memorial Nurse Lectureship at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Alfaro-LeFevre will speak on “Fostering the Spirit of Inquiry” Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Carver Hall, Kenneth S. Gross Auditorium. The program is open to the public free of charge

Alfaro-LeFevre has earned a reputation for making difficult content easy to read. Her books, “Critical Thinking and Clinical Judgment: A Practical Approach” and “Applying Nursing Processes: A Tool for Critical Thinking,” won awards from the American Journal of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau and have been translated into eight languages.

Describing her upcoming program, Alfaro-LeFevre said, “Evidence-based practice is more important than ever yet, too often, we don’t even get started with the first step of research: asking questions. This program gives doses of humor and reality to help address research issues in the 2000s.”

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing, Alfaro-LeFevre received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Villanova University. She has taught in associate and baccalaureate programs and has more than 20 years of clinical experience. She is the president of Teaching Smart/Learning Easy in Stuart, Fla., which offers educational materials, seminars and consultations dedicated to improving performance and getting results in practice and education.

Following her BU lecture, Alfaro-LeFevre will sign her books, both of which will be available at a discounted price. For more information about Alfaro-LeFevre, visit www.AlfaroTeachSmart.com. For additional information about the lecture, call BU’s nursing department at (570) 389-4600.
