BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Chamber Orchestra will present a fall concert Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market St., Bloomsburg. The concert is free and open to the public.

The featured soloists are principal cellist Jessica Tomlinson, a senior music major from Mechanicsburg, playing “Kol Nidrei,” opus 47 by Bruch; and Lauren Stamm, a senior music major from Selinsgrove, playing Weber’s Concertino for Clarinet in E-flat, opus 26. Victoria Miller of Bloomsburg, who graduated from BU in 1989, will perform Mozart’s Concerto for Flute No. 2 in D. The orchestra will also perform Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No. 1.

The BU Chamber Orchestra is comprised mostly of string instruments, with the occasional use of wind and percussion instruments. The group’s repertoire focuses on works by classical composers, as well as some pop music. They perform at least twice a year and Mark Jelinek, professor of music at BU, is observing his 14th year as conductor.
