BLOOMSBURG— The musical revue “Ain’t Misbehavin’ ” will be performed Saturday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall, as part of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s 2006-07 Celebrity Artist Series.

“Ain’t Misbehavin’ ” includes 30 musical numbers from the songbook of Thomas “Fats” Waller, a songwriter who rose to international fame during jazz’s golden age of the 1920s and ’30s. The Harlem Renaissance, a period of creativity, cultural awareness and pride, sets the stage for the story, which pays tribute to the black musicians of the early 20th century. The show celebrates his life and music with songs such as “The Joint is Jumpin’,” “Honeysuckle Rose” and “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love.” The original Broadway show, which made its debut in 1978, received Tony Awards in the same year for best musical, best featured actress and best director.
