OWL Executive Board
Paige Strayer, OWL student assistant
Paige is a junior early childhood dual special education major from Elizabethtown, PA. She is on the PSEA executive board for Bloomsburg and the Northeastern region PSEA executive board as well. She is also involved with ACEI. Paige works with the Orientation Coordinator, she organizes the OWLs and OWL meetings, and oversees everything going on in the organization. Paige works in the Orientation office year-round and as an OWL you will hear a lot from me!
Rob Cole, president
I'm a Management major from Scranton, PA. I am a member of the OWLs, Phi Beta Lambda (Future Business Leaders of America), Program Board, TWLOHA - BU, Homecoming Committee, and Ski Club. My favorite thing about Bloomsburg is the Quad. It was one of the first things I saw on my tour as a prospective student, and it was one of the reasons why I quickly fell in love with the campus. Whether you see it covered in a blanket of snow or a hang out for students during nicer weather, it is always a great place to be. My favorite thing about being an OWL has to be, hands down, the amount of people I meet and the people I work with. I can say I have made so many new friendships with both my fellow OWLs and new students coming in!
Nina Hingston, vice president
Hi! I'm Nina. I am a junior pursuing a dual degree in Digital Forensics and Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish. Along with being the Vice President of the OWLS, I am also the Vice President of Community Government Association (CGA), and the Class of 2014. I am involved in the Board of Governor's program, and I have served on the Student Concert Committee. Aside from school, I am an independent recording artist and can be seen performing both on campus and in the surrounding areas. After graduation, I hope to work for the FBI, Department of Justice, or Inspector General.
Ben Meck, recording secretary
I am a sophomore accounting major, going for a concentration in fraud examination, and a minor in German. I love Bloomsburg because of the great academic programs, the great people I've met, the view every time I look outside, and how great my butt looks after walking up and down this hill for two years. I love the OWLs because we are a great organization. All the members are amazing. The job is also a perk. I love helping people, and, on top of that, it's a paid position! I wouldn't trade this group for anything in the world.
Teresa Grimes, treasurer
I am a biochemistry major with a professional writing minor from Saylorsburg, PA. Along with OWLs, I am also the Chemistry Club secretary. My favorite thing about Bloomsburg is that the second I walk on campus, I feel like I am home. It is just a beautiful place and a happy environment to spend your college years. The best part about being an OWL is helping new freshman go through the transition from living at home and going to high school with people you’ve known forever, to a new home, a new school, and a ton of new people.
Kerry Gormley, historian
My name is Kerry Gormley and I am majoring in Psychology. I also plan to declare minors in criminal justice and philosophy in the near future. I am the historian of the OWLs and also the historian and co-english captain of the Bloomsburg University Equestrian Team. I enjoy being an OWL because it allows me to be a part of a diverse group of people who work together to help others through the same college struggles that we may have previously encountered. I love Bloomsburg because when I came to visit, I immediately felt that this could be my home.
Taylar Long, projects coordinator
I am a Mass Communications: Public Relations major from Elizabethtown, PA. In addition to OWLs, I am a senator for the Community Government Association, the Junior Class Secretary, and I am involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters and in intramural soccer and volleyball. Hands-down, OWLs is the best organization I have joined. I have created lasting friendships and I absolutely love sharing my passion about BU with new students!
