An extensive array of retail businesses near campus

Banks, Bloomsburg Chamber of Commerce and Columbia Mall will have representatives available at the information fairs in Kehr Union on the summer orientation days for freshmen and transfer students.

Shopping

The University Store, right on campus, is owned and operated by the students at BU, and sells textbooks and academic supplies, clothing, gifts, a variety of convenience, snack and personal care items, and is open seven days a week.

Hauling stuff

When stuffing the family vehicle with "survival necessities," consider what you can easily buy here and thus don't have to haul. Make a quick trip to the University Store, a nearby supermarket or big box store for bottled water, personal care supplies, snack foods and save the vehicle space for essentials, like your CD collection and favorite stuffed animal.

Bloomsburg's thriving business district is five minutes' walk from residence halls and includes a wide range of retail shops, restaurants, banks and other commercial services.

Route 11, a half mile south of campus, is lined with many strip malls that include major chain stores, supermarkets, restaurants, auto repair and other retail businesses.

Columbia Mall, an enclosed shopping mall, is four miles northwest of campus, near Interstate 80.

A large number of motels and bed-and-breakfasts are situated within ten miles of the campus.

Nearby banks

All the listed banks are a very short walk from residence halls, and all have ATM machines.

Area banks also participate in a "bank fair" during orientation and move-in periods, at which time students can conveniently compare and open accounts.

ATM locations on campus: Warren Student Services Center(e-center), University Store, Kehr Union. On campus MAC facilities provided by Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union; non-members pay about a $1 transaction fee. First Columbia Bank and Trust has an ATM machine just off campus near a student parking lot and Bloomsburg Hospital.
