Biology

LCCC Major -- General StudiesBU Major -- Biology (B.A.)

The B.A. program allows more freedom in choosing courses, especially in a minor or second academic major than the B.S. degree. The program requires courses in biology (minimum 35 credit hours), chemistry (8 credit hours) and mathematics (3 credit hours). B.A. graduates have entered fields such as outdoor education and biological illustration. Students who plan to enter graduate or professional school in the natural sciences should select the B.S. degree.

Students pursuing a B.A. may elect an option in microbiology. The core requirements are the same as for the general B.A. program, but appropriate additional course work is also required.
