When should you apply as a Non-Degree Credit student at Bloomsburg University?
Step # 1: Complete and submit an official admission's application to the Academic Advisement Center - if you are currently taking classes as a non-degree student please do NOT complete another form.

Download a paper application (pdf). Mail to Academic Advisement, 216 Warren Student Services, Bloomsburg University, 400 East Second Street, Bloomsburg PA 17815-1301 or fax to (570) 389-3982.
Step # 2: Complete the online scheduling form.
When you've been scheduled for your classes, you'll be sent a copy of the schedule by regular mail to the address you provided. If you do not receive a confirmation of your admissions or scheduling with five business days, please contact Brenda Pitonyak by email or call (570) 389-2738.

Non-degree Categories
Non-degree students are admitted into specific categories - choose the appropriate category from the list below:
Category #1 - Adults who desire to enroll on a part-time basis, with or without a degree as an eventual goal
Needed: Official high school transcript or copy of G.E.D. scores - if your current is different from when you graduated high school - please ask the school to print your current name on your transcript underlined and bolded first part of above statement
Category #2 - Students who attend another college and are taking some courses at BU to transfer back to their home college
Needed: Verification of full-time status on letterhead signed by advisor and faxed to 570-389-3982
Category #3 - Current High School students - Go to www.bloomu.edu/ace for admissions and scheduling forms and admission requirements
Category #4 - Students who have a bachelor's degree are taking undergraduate classes to gain entry into a Master's degree program
Category #5 - Students with academic deficiencies (poor grades) pursuing a program of academic recovery to qualify for admission
Needed: Official copy of previous college transcript underlined and bolded
Category #6 - Those interested in earning their teacher certification at Bloomsburg University should contact the appropriate education department. Information can be found at http://www.bloomu.edu/admin/acad/prof_studies/certification.php
Category #7 - Adults 60 years of age or older - must provide proof of age
Category #8 - Non-degree students enrolled in one of the six certificate programs available for non-degree students

Category #9 - International Exchange Students
Non-Degree To Degree Process - All students switching from non-degree to degree status must complete the standard admissions application forms for traditional undergraduate students, including the $30 application fee. The application is available at http://www.bloomu.edu/prospective/fall.php.

Financial Aid: Non-degree category # 4 and #8 are eligible to apply for financial aid. Apply at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Look for scholarships available for non-degree students, part-time and full-time students. http://www.bloomu.edu/departments/finaid/pages/index.htm - look at page 37.
