Sibel Rasim, admissions counselor
Hi, my name is Sibel Rasim and I am an admissions counselor at BU! I graduated from Bloomsburg University’s Early Childhood Education/Special Education program May 2015 and will be graduating from BU’s Educational Leadership College Student Affairs graduate program May 2017.
As a graduate and employee of BU, I feel a deep connection to the University. I am passionate about helping prospective students navigate the college search process. Should you decide to attend Bloomsburg University, I am confident you will see all of the things that make BU an amazing school.
I travel to high schools and college fairs in several different regions including Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Southern New Jersey and Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, and Perry counties in Pennsylvania. Be sure to check with your guidance counselor or career/college advisor to find out when I will be visiting your school. You can also see a list of the college fairs in your area that I will be attending! If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me!
Best Advice: Give things a chance… take full advantage of all opportunities around you even if it may be uncomfortable or scary. A lot of others are in the same boat, connect and grow.
Favorite BU Activity: Walking around taking beautiful pictures of campus, Restaurant Night at Monty’s on Upper Campus, getting involved in the Husky Spirit through clubs/ activities/ sports.
Hobbies and Interests: Basketball, DJing/music, shoes, spending time with friends and family, traveling, taking pictures, making people smile.
Hometown: Palmerton, PA
Why I came to Bloomsburg: I graduated high school in 2011 and knew Bloomsburg University had a great academic reputation. When I visited, I fell in love with how friendly and helpful everyone was, the organized layout of the campus (and not to mention, the beautiful scenery!), the food was amazing, and there were endless involvement opportunities. BU has changed my life. This University has given me a chance to be myself, create life-long relationships and connections, and follow my dreams of making an impact on students!
