BU's Department of Environmental, Geographical and Geological Sciences (formerly known as Geography and Geosciences) has a new name, effective with the Fall 2012 semester. Group B, Group C, Diversity, and Values have been added as appropriate.

Old and New Course Names

Important Message regarding ENGLISH.101

ENGLISH.101 Composition 1 has a new name, effective with the Fall 2012 semester the course name is Foundations of College Writing (ENGLISH.101).


Some academic departments and advisors may require advisees to seek advice before scheduling. If so, Advisement HOLDS may be placed on the students’ records.

• This hold requires you to make an appointment with your advisor, at that time the advisor would need to remove the hold in order to begin scheduling.
• All financial holds must be removed before you will be permitted to schedule, please see the Bursars Office in regards to removing those holds.

Adding, Dropping and Withdrawing

For the Spring 2017 semester, the last day to add and drop a course is Monday, January 30.

After the add/drop period is over the course withdrawal period begins. Students CANNOT drop courses after the add/drop period is over, you must withdraw from a course using MyHusky. Further instructions on how to withdraw from a course can be found on this webpage once the withdraw period has begun for each semester.

Wait Listing

Bloomsburg University will be utilizing electronic wait listing (for closed courses) during the scheduling period.
This electronic method of attempting to get into closed classes will replace paper waitlists that departments used in the past.
  » Not all departments or all courses at Bloomsburg University will utilize the waitlisting option.
  » When scheduling a class if wait listing is being used you will see a yellow triangle next to the class.
  » If a seat opens up, students on the waitlist are automatically enrolled if they meet the prerequisites and if they do not have another class scheduled at the same time of day and week.
  » Students are enrolled in open seats based on their position number on the waitlist.
  » Waitlisting is a process within the Students Service Center Enrollment function of MyHusky.
  » If a section of a course allows for waitlisting, the student must opt into being added to the waitlist during the enrollment process. It is not automatic.
  » Wait listing will not commence until the Seniors begin scheduling.
  » It will not be in effect for the freshmen scheduling or the Priority scheduling timetable.
