How are repeated courses calculated?

Undergraduate student may repeat a maximum of four courses where grades of C- or lower are earned. To repeat a course, simply schedule the course and enroll in the course in the normal manner. If the course number has not changed between the times you have taken the course, the Registrar will automatically notate the course repeats. (Refer to Academic Policy 3452 Undergraduate Course Repeat Policy.)

If the course number has changed of it or you are repeating the course at another college or university, you must notify the Registrar. There is a blue Course Repeat Form on the forms rack (Bin # 32) in the atrium of the Student Services Center to report these special course repeats.

When a course is repeated, the original grade remains on the transcript, but it is not calculated into the cumulative GPA (it is calculated into the GPA for the semester of enrollment). The repeated grade does calculate in the cumulative GPA, even if the grade earned is lower than the original grade. Transcripts are annotated to reflect "CR" (course repeated) between the credits and the grade of the last grade for the course. An "*" (asterisk ) will appear between the credits and grade of prior enrollments of the repeated course.

What is an Official Transcript?

An "official transcript: needs to be in the sealed institutional envelope and received directly from the issuing institution, printed on their special paper and bears the signature of the Registrar and seal.
