Huskies Named to All-PSAC Baseball Team![]() ![]() BLOOMSBURG—Two members of the Bloomsburg University baseball team, Brian Martin (Macungie/Emmaus) and Brian Sperling (Levittown/Neshaminy) were named to the All-PSAC East baseball team. Martin was chosen to the first team as an outfielder, while Sperling was a second team choice as a designated hitter in voting among the division coaches. Martin, a senior, led the Huskies in several offensive categories this season. He topped the team in batting average with a mark of .351; also in hits with 44, doubles with 10, homers with five, RBI with 27 and in slugging percentage with a mark of .566. His six stolen bases were also good for second on the team. Martin, a second team All-PSAC selection a year ago, was named the PSAC East Player of the Week April 14th after hitting .583 (7-12) with two homers and seven RBI in four games. Sperling, a senior, a repeat choice to the second team All-PSAC, was second in batting for Bloomsburg with a mark of .350, while hitting a homer and 23 RBI. He also scored 23 runs and had a slugging percentage of .488 for the season. One of his best games of the season came in Florida against Edinboro when he went 3-4 with two doubles and four RBI in a 17-10 win over the Fighting Scots. |
