Bloomsburg Falls in Baseball to KutztownBLOOMSBURG —The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped a pair of games to Kutztown on Thursday losing 8-6 in eight innings and 4-3 in eight innings. In the opener, Mark Reiter went 4-5 to lead Bloomsburg, but it wasn't enough to overcome a four-run run eighth inning by the Golden Bears. Bloomsburg trailed 4-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning when it scored twice to tie the game. Tim Kelleher had a sacrifice fly run batted in with Andy Howard getting an RBI double. In the eighth inning the Golden Bears scored four times to take an 8-4 lead. The Huskies, though, came back with two runs and had the tying runs on base with two outs, but could not get them home. In game two, the Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Brian Martin. After Kutztown took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third, Martin tied the game with a solo homer in the bottom of the inning. Bloomsburg took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth when Chris Husted doubled home Kelleher with the go-ahead run. Kutztown tied the game, though, in the seventh and won it in the eighth with a single run. Bloomsburg, 14-22, 3-15 in the PSAC East, will visit East Stroudsburg on Saturday at 1 p.m. GAME ONE
