Brian Martin Named PSAC East Player of the WeekBLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University baseball player Brian Martin (Macungie/Emmaus) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for the period ending April 13th. Martin, a senior outfielder, hit .583 (7-12) in four games over the weekend with two homers and seven RBI. He also scored four times, had 13 total bases and a slugging percentage of 1.083. In game one of a twinbill with Shippensburg Saturday, Martin went 2-3 with a homer, four RBI and a run scored. He drove in four of the team' five runs in a 5-1 victory. In game two Sunday against Mansfield, Martin was 3-4 with a homer and two RBI and a run scored. Bloomsburg went 2-2 in the four games this weekend. For the season, Martin is second on the team in batting with a mark of .430 and is tied for the team lead in homers with two and in RBI with 21. Bloomsburg, 13-13, 2-5 in the PSAC East, will host Millersville on Tuesday in a triple-header starting at 10:30 a.m. |
