BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University baseball standout Ryan Wyland (Williamport/Loyalsock Twp.) has been named to the Division II North Atlantic Regional All-Star team sponsored by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA).
Wyland, a sophomore, was named second team All-Region as a utility player. He saw time at second and third bases, designated hitter and also pitched in seven games for the Huskies in 2005. For the season he led the team in batting with a .385 mark; in homers with five; in slugging percentage with a mark of .592; hits with 50; runs with 33 and was tied for the lead in doubles with 10. He also had 19 RBI and stole five bases. During the season, Wyland, who was also named first team All-PSAC, had 18 multi-hit games and hit safely in 11 straight games in the middle of the season.
