BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University baseball team and new head coach Mike Collins recently received a donation of $500 from 1958 graduate Pat "Tiger" Denoy to be used for the team's annual spring trip.

At a luncheon to honor Denoy, Collins presented the former Huskies' infielder with the Danny Litwhiler Award to recognize his contributions to the Bloomsburg baseball program as both a student-athlete and a dedicated alumnus.

After graduating from Bloomsburg, Denoy, a resident of Mocanaqua, had a long and illustrious career as professional basketball official in both the American Basketball Association and the Eastern Basketball League. He also officiated games on the collegiate and high school levels. In the summer, he spent time as both a coach of youth baseball and as an umpire.

"I am just getting to know Tiger and learn about all the great work he has done for youth of the area," said Collins. "He has also been a positive influence with his work as a coach and official at the high school level on hundreds of student-athletes and I am proud to be able to call him a friend."
