Ward Named PSAC East Co-Player of the Week

BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University's Kevin Ward (Upper Darby/Monsignor Bonner) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Co-Player of the Week for the period ending April 29th.
Ward closed out the 2006 season on a tear, hitting .579 (11-19) with 11 RBI, seven runs and three round-trippers. He collected six RBI and hit three home runs as Bloomsburg won a pair of games against Lock Haven.
Later in the week, he picked up five more RBI, scored four runs and drew three walks as the Huskies won three of four from East Stroudsburg. He had multiple RBIs in four contests and did not strike out once all week.
Ward finished his freshman season at Bloomsburg with a .326 batting average, six doubles, six homeruns and 32 runs batted in. He shares the PSAC weekly award with Matt Cotellese of West Chester.
