Vinnie James Named to Daktronics All-Region Team

BLOOMSBURG-- Vinnie James (Bristol/Bristol) has been named to the first-ever Daktronics All-North Atlantic Region second team for his play this season.

James, a senior catcher, was also named first team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division in 2007 after setting career highs in several offensive categories. James ranked third in the PSAC in batting, (.413), second in home runs (7), second in hits (64) and second in total bases (101). He also finished with a team-leading 12 doubles, 40 RBI, and a .656 slugging percentage. During the week ending April 16, James was named PSAC East Player of the Week after batting .500 (11-22) with three home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored. James finished his career at Bloomsburg with a .348 average, 10 home runs, and 94 RBI. His 94 RBI and 152 career hits each ranked 10th all-time in school history.

The first Daktronics, Inc. baseball all-region ballot was compiled and voted on by sports information directors from the 28 Division II schools in the North Atlantic Region. The 15-member first and second teams were based on position breakdown and according to the number of votes received.
