Bloomsburg University Baseball Falls to Bucknell

BLOOMSBURG- Kevin Ward (Upper Darby/Monsignor Bonner) went 3-4 with four RBI, but a valiant Huskies effort fell short as Bloomsburg lost to Bucknell 13-8.

Bloomsburg scored five runs in the second inning, led by a Carlos Medina (Lititz/Manheim Twp) RBI double and an RBI single from Ward. Bloomsburg scored two runs off of a throwing error by Bucknell to secure a 5-1 advantage after two innings.

It would stay that way until the fifth inning when Ward hit a three-run home run over the left-center field fence, giving Bloomsburg a 8-3 lead after three and a half innings. Bucknell would rally and cut the lead back down to one, 8-7 after four innings. From there, the Bison added six unanswered runs from the sixth inning on to secure the victory.

Seth Pauling (Allenwood/Montgomery) (0-2) picked up the loss for the Huskies. With the loss, Bloomsburg falls to 11-13 on the season.

Bloomsburg returns to action on Friday when they host East Stroudsburg. Game one of the doubleheader begins at 1:00 p.m.
