Grant Kernaghan Named PSAC East Pitcher of the Week

BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University pitcher Grant Kernaghan (Upper Darby/Upper Darby) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 8.

Kernaghan went 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA in two starts for the Huskies over their spring break trip. He allowed just three runs, two of them earned, in 14.2 innings of work. He struck out seven and walked just one. He also gave up just one extra-base hit in his two starts. At Newberry, he threw a seven-inning complete game shutout, allowing six hits and striking out five. Then, against eighth-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, he went 7.2 innings, allowing just two earned runs to help the Huskies knocked off the eighth-ranked Bears.

For the season Kernaghan is 3-0 with a 0.92 ERA with 13 strikeouts and just two walks in 19 and 2/3 innings. Bloomsburg is 8-6 on the year.
