Game One Box Score

Game Two Box Score

BLOOMSBURG - Bloomsburg University split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East doubleheader with Millersville on Sunday, winning 2-1 in the opener before falling 5-3 in the nightcap.

The Huskies would get all the runs they needed in the bottom of the first on a two-run shot by junior Jerry Lloyd (Mifflinburg/Mifflinburg Area). Sophomore Joe Crossin (Fairless Hills/Pennsburg) was tough on the mound in picking up the win, giving up five hits and striking out six in 4.1 innings of work, allowing just one earned run. Millersville's starter, Derek Kline, gave up just that one hit in 6.0 innings, striking out five and walking one.

The Marauders got up on Bloomsburg early in game two, getting three runs on three hits in the opening inning. The Huskies got one back in the bottom half when senior Tony Donofry (Newtown/Council Rock North) scored on a wild pitch by Millersville's Ryan Stauffer. The Marauders took a 5-1 lead in their half of the fourth with help from a Kent Gerdes RBI double and a wild pitch by Bloomsburg starter junior David Langton (Mount Carmel/Mount Carmel Area). The Huskies threatened in the final inning with a two-out single and a stolen base from Donofry. Lloyd then got a ground-rule double, scoring Donofry and putting Bloomsburg back to within two runs. However the rally ended on the next batter with a line out to right field.

Donofry, Lloyd and senior Corey Eisenhart (York/Dover Area) each picked up three hits in game two while Langton pitched four innings, striking out six and giving up four earned.

The Huskies take the field again on Tuesday when they travel to play Washington Adventist at 1:00 p.m.
