Bloomsburg Drops Twinbill to West Chester

WEST CHESTER-The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped a twinbill to West Chester on Saturday losing by scores of 12-5 and 10-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
In the opener, the Huskies trailed 2-0 after one inning, but the cut the lead in half when Scott Kacelowicz (Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain) singled home Eric Ebert (Holland/Council Rock South) to make it a 2-1 game. After West Chester added a run in the home second to make it 3-1, Bloomsburg railed to take a 4-3 lead with three runs in the top of the fifth. Chris Tressler (Lewistown/Lewistown) tripled home two runs with Tony Donofry (Newtown/Council Rock North) bringing in Tressler with an RBI single.
The Golden Rams came back with nine runs over the next two innings to take a 12-4 lead. Bloomsburg got one run back in the seventh when Donofry had an RBI single for his second run batted in of the game.
In game two the Huskies lost 10-2 when Golden Ram starter Dave Steig pitched a two-hitter. Joey Ianiero (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) broke the up the no-hit bid by Steig with a single in the sixth and later scored on a ground out by Donofry. In the seventh, Devin McLaughlin (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) had an RBI single for the Huskies second run of the game.
Bloomsburg will host Shippensburg on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in a PSAC East doubleheader.
