Richards comes to Bloomsburg after spending the last three years as assistant coach at her alma mater Cal State, Stanislaus where she earned a degree in Physical Education.
During her playing career, Richards played two years at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) where she helped the Broncos to back to back NCAA Division II national titles in 2001 and 2002.
Before playing at CPP, Richards spent two years at Erskine College (SC) and was named the Carolinas-Virginia Conference Freshman Player of the Year.
A native of New Jersey, Richards is looking forward to working with the Huskies.
“Bloomsburg has a great tradition of successful teams in women's basketball and I am looking forward to working with head coach Tammy Millsaps to continue that tradition,” said Richards. “I am also very excited about the chance to be back on the east coast where I have lots of family. I really can't wait for the season to start.”
Bloomsburg will get the season going by hosting the Patriot Inn-Huskies Women's Basketball Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 18-19th with games against Bowie State and Virginia State.
