Bloomsburg and Edinboro Finish Play to Draw in Lady Raider Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg and Edinboro women's soccer teams played through two extra periods without a score and finished with the contest finished with a 1-1 tie. The contest was held at David C. See Field on the campus of Shippensburg University in the Lady Raider Classic.

Edinboro got the scoring started just two minutes into the contest when Ashley Pulman assisted Angie De Almeida for her first goal of the season.

Bloomsburg did not score until the 43rd minute when Katie Armitage (Saylorsburg/Stroudsburg) found Ashley Brucker (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren) who drilled in her first goal of the season to tie the game at one. The goal was the second of the year for Brucker who also teamed with Armitage for the Huskies' lone goal on Saturday.

Neither team could post goals in the either overtime, so the game ended with Bloomsburg moving to 1-0-1 and Edinboro to 0-1-1 on the 2005 season.

Bloomsburg goalie Robin Gerber (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) turned away six shots, while Edinboro goalie Trish Chilcott earned two saves. Edinboro held an 11-9 edge on shots, but Bloomsburg had six corner shots to Edinboro's three.

The Huskies host IUP on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
