Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Downs Mansfield

MANSFIELD — Christine Mongelli (South River, NJ/South River) scored once and had one assist to lead the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Mansfield University Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies got on the board first when Mongelli scored 13:47 into the game, a goal which would turn out to be all the scoring for the first half.

Bloomsburg made it a 2-0 game when Christina Mazurek (Hatfield/North Penn) scored at 49:03 off an assist from Mongelli. The Mountaineers needed less than a minute to cut the deficit to one on a goal by Lyndi Keiser off a penalty kick to make it a 2-1 game.

The Huskies scored the game's final goal when Sarah Fick (Hamburg/Fleetwood) hit the back of the net less than a minute after Mansfield scored.

In goal, the Huskies Robin Gerber (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) stopped nine shots to post the win.

Bloomsburg, 3-2-1, will host Millersville on Sunday at 1 p.m.
