Bloomsburg Downs Lock Haven in Football

BLOOMSBURG—Tailback Arrastene Henry (Philadelphia/Geo. Washington) rushed for a game-high 136 yards and two touchdowns to lead Bloomsburg University to a 52-7 win over Lock Haven University Saturday afternoon. It was the first win of the season for the Huskies who dropped their first two games by a combined 15 points.

Henry got the Huskies going with a one-yard scoring run in the first quarter capping a 16-play, 80-yard drive at the 3:19 mark. On the Bald Eagles' next drive, quarterback Ed Galiczynski was intercepted by Toyae Berry (Easton/Easton), who returned the ball 34 yards for a touchdown. It was Berry's second career interception returned for a touchdown.

Lock Haven trimmed the deficit to 14-7 when Ray Riley caught a 14-yard scoring pass from Galiczynski with 10:53 left in the second period. Bloomsburg's Tierell Johnson (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) then caught a pair of second quarter touchdown passes from Eric Miller (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights), the first from 10 yards out and the second from 37-yards to make it 28-7. The final scoring of the first half came with 42 seconds remaining on a 27-yard field goal from Chris Thompson (Manheim/Manheim Central) giving the Huskies a 31-7 lead at the break.

Henry scored the only points of the third quarter on a three yard run with 11:43 left making it 38-7. In the fourth period, Marques Glaze (Robesonia/Conrad Weiser) added a touchdown on a two-yard run in the fourth period and Solomon Melson (Philadelphia/Milton Hershey) added a 10-yard run with 5:02 left giving the Huskies a 52-7 victory.

Bloomsburg finished the day with a season-high 543 yards in total offense, while limiting Lock Haven to 203.

In addition to Henry rushing for a 100-yards, Glaze finished the day with 114 yards and one score. In the passing department, Miller was 17-22 for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Lelko (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg) caught six passes for 57 yards.

Defensively, Greg Roskos (Scranton/West Scranton) led the Huskies nine tackles, while Jeremiah Dyer (Berwick/Berwick) added six tackles.

For the Bald Eagles, Galiczynski was 15 of 25 for 145 yards, one interception and one touchdown.

Bloomsburg will host Cheyney next week, while Lock Haven hosts Indiana (PA).
