Bloomsburg's Glaze Named Player of the Week in the PSAC

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University tailback Marques Glaze (Robesonia/Conrad Weiser) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Week for his play in the Huskies 34-7 win over East Stroudsburg University Saturday.

Glaze rushed for a career-high 222 yards and scored four times in leading Bloomsburg to the win. The senior co-captain devastated the Warriors with a tremendous first quarter performance. In the opening 15 minutes of play Glaze rushed for 149 yards and scored on runs of nine and 47-yards as the Huskies jumped out to a 17-0 lead.

In the third period, Glaze scored on a 55-yard run on the first series of the second half and then wrapped up his day with a six-yard run later in the period. Glaze, who did not play in the fourth, broke his previous best mark of 218 yards set last year in a game with Indiana (PA). Overall, it was the third 200-yard game of his career.

For the year, Glaze leads the Huskies in rushing with 783 yards on 138 carries while scoring nine touchdowns. In his career, Glaze is closing in on the 3,000-yard mark, needing just 215 yards to reach the plateau.

Bloomsburg, 5-1, 3-0 PSAC East, will host Mansfield University Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in a homecoming game.
