Football Team Nationally Ranked

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University football team is ninth in the latest NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Poll. Bloomsburg is also ranked 24th in the Division II National Poll by D2football.com this week.

The Huskies move up after a 35-28 overtime win over Kutztown, the fourth win in a row for the Huskies. Bloomsburg replaces Mansfield in the poll, after the Mountaineers fell to East Stroudsburg last weekend.

At the end of the regular season, the poll will determine which four teams represent the northeast in the NCAA Division II National tournament.

At the top of the poll there was a shake-up as well, as defending national champion, Grand Valley, fell to the number three spot after a 34-20 loss to Saginaw Valley last weekend.

The Huskies travel to Cheyney this weekend, and will later face two teams ranked ahead of them in the regional poll. West Chester, who the Huskies will play Nov. 1, is ranked fifth, while Bloomsburg's final opponent, Indiana (Pa.), is ranked fourth.

Bloomsburg's game at Cheyney, Oct. 25, will begin at 1:00 p.m.
