BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University offensive tackle Jahri Evans (Philadelphia/Frankford) has been named to the Don Hansen Football Gazette 2004 NCAA Division II All-American second team.
Evans, named a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association and first team member of the Daktronics All-Northeast Region team, helped pave the way for the Huskies to rush for 299.4 yards per game. The Huskies had a 1,000 yard rusher this season as well as another back with 991 yards thanks to Evans efforts.
A 2004 Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award finalist, Evans was also named to the Associated Press Little All-American second-team. He was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference first-team for the second consecutive year and was also named All-Northeast Region by d2football.com
Evans graded out at over 90 percent for the season and averaged four pancake blocks per contest. He helped lead the Huskies to a 7-3 record.
