Bloomsburg Routs Lock Haven in Football

BLOOMSBURG—Tailback Mike Ceroli (Lenape, NJ/Medford) rushed for a game-high 156 yards and three touchdowns and the Bloomsburg University defense limited Lock Haven to 65 yards to total offense in a 54-0 win over the Bald Eagles on Saturday.
Ceroli scored on runs of two and 15-yards in the first half, then, added a seven-yard scoring run in the third period. In all the Huskies rushed for 431 yards and six touchdowns.
Defensively, the Huskies held the Bald Eagles to just three first downs for the game and intercepted three passes with linebacker Rob Biernat (Bristol/Conwell Eagan) returning one 37-yards for a score in the third period.
The Huskies jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the game's opening drive when Jamar Brittingham (Levittown/Neshaminy) scored on a two-yard run to cap an 11-play, 89-yard drive with 10:07 to go in the first period.
Brittingham scored Bloomsburg's second touchdown on a four-yard to start the second period before Ceroli scored his two touchdowns to put Bloomsburg up, 20-0. The Huskies also added a score threw the air as Jack Lydic (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) hit Luke Kuklick (North Wales/North Penn) with an eight-yard scoring pass as time expired in the second period.
In the third period, Biernat stepped in front of a throw and returned it 37-yards on Lock Haven's opening drive of the third period. Ceroli then added a seven-yard run to put Bloomsburg in front 47-0 before Julius Brown (Lancaster/Garden Spot) closed out the scoring for the game with a two-yard run with 2:01 left in the third period.
Along with Ceroli's 156 yards rushing, Brown finished the day with 122, while Brittingham added 95 yards.
Biernat led the defense with six tackles, while Rodney Johnson (Philadelphia/George Washington) added five stops.
Bloomsburg (2-1) will host IUP on Saturday at 3 p.m. Lock Haven (1-3) will host Slippery Rock at 1 p.m. next week.
