Bloomsburg Football Sweeps Weekly PSAC Awards

BLOOMSBURG —Bloomsburg University's Jamar Brittingham (Levittown/Neshaminy) and Keith Davis (Woodlyn/Strath Haven) were named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their play in the Huskies win over IUP.

Brittingham, a sophomore tailback, was named the Eastern Division Player of the Week for the second straight week and third time overall this season. In the Huskies 27-0 win over the Indians he carried the ball 35 times for 246 yards and two scores to average 7.0 yards per carry.  Division II's leading scorer coming into the game, Brittingham is now averaging 7.6 yards per carry, 16.8 points per game and 178.6 rushing yards per game. He is eighth on the Huskies all-time rushing with 1,884 yards in just 15 career games.

Davis, a sophomore defensive back, was named the PSAC Eastern Division Defensive Player of the Week. He was one of the team's leading tacklers against IUP, as he posted six stops, including three solos.  He picked off a pass and returned it 29 yards to set up a touchdown and also had a sack of -10 yards. For the season Davis leads the Huskies with four interceptions and is fifth in tackles with 22.

Bloomsburg, 5-0, will open its PSAC Eastern Division schedule at East Stroudsburg, 4-0, this Saturday at 1:05 p.m.
