BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University tailback Jamar Brittingham (Levittown/Neshaminy) has been named the Eastern Division co-Offensive Player of the Week in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) for his play against Slippery Rock University this past Saturday.

Brittingham had career-highs in carries (25), yards (250) and touchdowns (4) as the Huskies rallied from a 24-6 third period deficit to pull out a 40-24 win. In the second half, Brittingham aided the rally by rushing for 137 and three scores. On the day, his touchdown runs went for 28, 3, 12 and 37 yards. The final touchdown, with less than two minutes to play, iced the win for Bloomsburg. The effort was also the seventh best single game rushing effort in school history and his sixth straight 100-yard game and second straight 200-yard game dating back to last year.

Brittingham, who was the PSAC East Rookie of the Year in 2004, also surpassed 1,000 yards rushing in his short career and now has 1,241 in just 11 career games, an average of 112.8 yards a game.

Bloomsburg, 1-0, will visit Fairmont State on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
