Bloomsburg Football Moves up in National Rankings
BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University football team is ranked number one for the third straight week in the NCAA regional rankings.
The regional rankings determine the six participants for the NCAA football championships from each of the four regions. The Huskies, 8-0, are followed by East Stroudsburg, Shepherd, C.W. Post, and Bentley to round out the top five.
Bloomsburg also moved up in two other division II national polls with their 48-14 victory over Cheyney this past Saturday. The Huskies are now ranked fourth in both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll and the D2football.com top 25 poll. Last week, Bloomsburg was ranked seventh in the coaches' poll and sixth in the D2football.com poll. The fourth place is the highest regular season ranking ever for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg will travel to Mansfield on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
