Bloomsburg Football Ranks in National Statistics


BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University football team and several players are ranked among the nation's best in the latest Division II football statistics.

Running back Jamar Brittingham (Levittown/Neshaminy) leads all NCAA Division II players in rushing with 184.5 yards per game. Brittingham is also second is scoring with 23 touchdowns (17.3 per game) and fifth in all-purpose yards with an average of 202.9 yards a game.

As a team, the Huskies are first in the country in rushing yards per game with 309 yards a game. On the defensive end, Bloomsburg is ranked third in turnover margin of 2.1, fifth in scoring defense averaging 10.4 points a game and eighth in pass efficiency defense with a rating of 88.3.

The Huskies, 8-0 on the year, are ranked fourth in the latest d2football.com poll and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) polls. The ranking is the highest regular season ranking ever for the Huskies. Bloomsburg looks to stay undefeated this weekend as they travel to Mansfield on Saturday with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.
