Bilal Named All-Purpose Player of the Week

BLOOMSBURG - Bloomsburg University junior wide receiver Brahin Bilal (Philadelphia/Lincoln) has been named Don Hansen Football Gazette's National All-Purpose Player of the Week for his performance against East Stroudsburg on Saturday.

Bilal destroyed East Stroudsburg's defense with 289 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns to help the Huskies secure a share of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East title. Both of his receptions, covering 79 and 57 yards, went for touchdowns. However, Bilal's biggest contribution came after East Stroudsburg's touchdown near the end of the first half, when he returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and gave Bloomsburg a two-touchdown lead going into halftime. With two catches and four kickoff returns, he averaged 48.1 yards every time he touched the ball.

For the season, Bilal leads the Huskies in receiving yards (819) and touchdown receptions (9). He is averaging 23.4 yards per catch and 81.9 yards per game.

Bloomsburg (9-1, 5-0 PSCA East) will wrap up the regular season when they visit Cheyney on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
