Bloomsburg's Trettin Named Daktronics All-American

BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University safety Tyler Trettin (Hummelstown/Hershey) has been named to the 2006 Daktronics Football All-America team as a second team selection.

Trettin, a senior, finished the season ranked third on the team with 70 tackles including 39 solo stops. He also had five interceptions on the year, his last coming in the closing seconds of the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship against Shepherd that sealed the win for Bloomsburg. Trettin also had six pass breakups and one blocked kick.

During the season, Trettin was named the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week for his play in the regular season match-up with West Chester on Oct. 7 when he led the Bloomsburg defense with seven tackles, including five solos and an interception. He was also a first team All-PSAC East selection this season.

Trettin has also been recently selected to the 2006 CoSIDA/ ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II second team for his work in the classroom.

The 2006 Bloomsburg Huskies finished the season 12-2 and as the PSAC East and NCAA Northeast Region Champions and as NCAA National Semi-finalists.
