Huskies Earn NCAA Playoff Bid
The Bloomsburg University football team earned a bid to the NCAA Division II championships on Sunday. The Huskies will be the top seeded team from Super Regional One and will get a first round bye.
Bloomsburg, 10-1, will be making its seventh trip to the NCAA championships with previous trips coming in 1985, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2005, and 2006. The Huskies reached the national semifinals in 1985, and 2006 and were national runner-ups in 2000.
As the top seed, Bloomsburg will face the winner of the West Chester (ranked 4th) versus Southern Connecticut (ranked fifth) on Nov. 22nd.
California, Pa. is the second seed and will also receive a first round bye. The Vulcans will face the winner of the Seton Hill versus American International game. Should both the Huskies and Vulcans win on the 22nd, they would meet on Nov. 29th at Bloomsburg in the regional final.
