Huskies Move Up in National Rankings

BLOOMSBURG-- After last week's win over the then-fifth ranked team in the country, Bloomsburg University's football team has moved up in the national rankings of two organizations. The Huskies are now11th in the American Football Coaches Association rankings (AFCA) and 14th in the d2football.com poll.

Bloomsburg, 2-0, tied Pittsburg (KS) State for the week's biggest jump in the AFAC poll by moving up seven spots. The Huskies went from number 18 last week to number 11 this week after the 24-17 win over the Vulcans. Pittsburg State went from number 14 to number seven after a win over then-eighth ranked Chadron State.

In the d2football.com poll, Bloomsburg moved up six spots going from number 20 to 14th in the country.

The Huskies, 2-0, have won seven straight dating back to last year and three straight over nationally ranked teams. Bloomsburg will host Mercyhurst College (1-1) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in a Parent's Day game. Tickets are $8 for adult and $3 for students and seniors. Children under 12 are free. Gates at the newly renovated Redman Stadium open at noon.
