Bloomsburg University Football Ranked #1 in Regional Rankings

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University football team is the top seed in the NCAA Super Regional 1, which determines the playoff seeding in each geographical region.

In addition, the Huskies are ranked in both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Poll and the D2Football.com Top 25 Media Poll. The Huskies are ranked 6th in the AFCA poll and 7th in the D2Football.com poll.

Grand Valley State, North Alabama, Abilene Christian (Texas), West Texas A&M and Northwest Missouri State comprise the top five in this week's AFCA poll. Three other PSAC teams make the top 25. California (Pa.) is ranked 8th, Edinboro climbs to 16th by virtue of their win over IUP. IUP remains ranked at 23rd.

The Huskies improved to 7-0 this past Saturday with a 41-23 victory over East Stroudsburg. Derrick Price (Burlington, NJ/Burlington City) rushed for 113 yards and Vince Browning (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) intercepted a Tim Roken pass on the game's opening drive and returned it 58-yards for a touchdown.

The unbeaten Huskies will travel to Cheyney on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
